I just read once to my 2. I love it!

Day two of no boobies, and no tears from the little one, who is napping without being nursed to sleep right now (and only a few tears from me). We used a paper lantern instead of latex balloon for environmental reasons, and used the farmers almanac date for weaning.

My one faux pas: chose a cloudy night with no moon. We first watched a read aloud version of the book and my daughter was pointing to the images and talking about the moon straight away so we came here to purchase.

I am so thankful that we did 🙏 Yes I cried for the first few reads but by the time we let the magic go we were both prepared and it was a beautiful celebration together. We had a “moon day” party since their birthday was already passed. 5 yo daughter but this book help already so much to help me talk about weaning her. My son will be 3 next week and the idea of sending his “boobies milk” off to the moon to help the next new baby who needs it really appealed to him.

I have recommended this to a friend who Is also hoping to wean her 2 year old. He didn’t mind, thankfully. After a couple of nights of reading the story, she was happy to go without feeding- we hadn't even done a ritual to go with this - just reading about it has been enough.

The Booby Moon book worked like a charm for us! My kids loved the book. I would recommend to anyone wanting a gentle weaning for a toddler x Word of warning & it is mentioned in the user guide - it's worth reading this to yourself before sharing with your toddler as it certainly caused me to well up a little bit the first time reading it as it does make you think about the enormity of what we have done and what we are now giving upThank you for sharing this story with us.
