As this only for myself this was not so much of a problem, also it was half price, but it was sad to see the inner cover so badly damaged. After serving it to my husband's parents, his mom asked for the recipe and bought the ingredients so she could make it.

I knocked a star from this review because the book dust cover and the hard cover was quite badly ripped and torn. The positives is that this is a very good book if you are starting on your Korean food journey. .

I will make the kimchi in the book one day, but the kimchii on her website (tongbaechu kimchi) with fermented salted shrimp is to die for. To me, a good side dish spread is what sets excellent Korean food apart from run of the mill. It's been very helpful to take this cookbook to the Asian markets so we can find exactly what we're looking for.

We discovered that she had a cookbook and ordered it. Lots of photos and has many video feeds on utube that complement the various recipes. I made Gimbap and although she has several pictures in the book showing how to roll it, I found it easier to watch the video as I was making it. I buy a lot of cookbooks, and this one really, really stands out.

We ran across Maangchi and watched several of her videos. I've made many of the recipes, and they are authentic and delicious. I have been following her YouTube videos for years.
