And no, I don't get the disks for free, or I work for WD, I'm just a normal customer/user (even though with IT backround, so I work professionally with storage systems, which explains the level of detail of my review) So I decided to replace it with this 3. I ordered the two products mentioned above WD Red Plus with a capacity of 3 TB and also 4 TB. not bulk) at the age of 3 Manufacturer warranty is coming.

Unfortunately, there is not always a perfect product allocation in terms of reviews. These have now been transferred to a QNAP 4 BAY NAS along with the 2 new WD RED PLUS drives I have just purchased. I had seen that you had to have the CMR version (EFRX) and not the SMR version. Great for me.

The workload rate, i. For everything else, the drive works perfectly, it's fast and quiet, I've put it with another 3TB WD drive that I already had with a similar feature, but with less cache and everything is fine, both working in RAID1. Despite the recent vicissitudes, I chose to still use a Western Digital disc. Purpose: The two hard drives both do their work in my NAS (Synology 916+).

I have my OS on an NVMe M. 🔲 Plugged into the NAS to rebuild the failed storage pool, it was immediately recognized without any problems, and the recovery process went smoothly. Further investigation revealed that the backup drive was only intended to spin when in use.

The choice fell on a 2 TB RED PLUS, since I don't need special performance and the cost is lower (at least at the time of my purchase). The RED PRO series is also based on CMR technology, but offers a higher speed, 7200 rpm. Packaging: As can be seen from the photos, both hard drives came in proper original packaging from the manufacturer Western Digital. I was convinced to receive the WD30EFZX model, with better performance, and I recommend greater clarity in describing the models given the differences, even important, between the various hard drives on sale.

CONS ⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️ ❌ Little clarity in the product description: it would be advisable to indicate the specific model. but so far, so good. If you want to avoid SMR shingled drives make sure you buy the PLUS version. 2 SSD and files (media, docs, music) on this WD Red NAS Hard Drive.

As you can see from the photos, the drives are new in original well packaged WD Boxes with suspended holders, silica gel and fixing screws. . the amount of data that should not be exceeded per year for the drive, is 180 TB.
