I love this book. The story and illustrations wonderfully capture the curiosity and imagination of a child, and the strong bonds of family. This actually really helped me get an idea who everyone was, but I think it could also open up conversations around Noor’s family names but also the child you’re reading it to’s family.

The story focuses on a girl who simply is intrigued about why her family members wear a hijab…but no one has any time to answer her questions. Noor loves her mum, and all the other hijabi women in her family, but wonders why do they wear headscarves? ?

It's a great size and the number of pages is perfect. It's become a staple in our bedtime routine. Or because they're a super spy and hiding their secret identity?

It's also a lovely celebration of family life and a humorous portrayal of how curious children are! This book is a lovely example of the richness and history of family and culture, and is a delight to share. The media could not be loaded.

I’m s it to prevent nits? Lovely well written story for children my daughter loves the fact this book is about a muslim family and a muslim girl who wanted to know why women wear the Hijab and she goes on question family until her mum gives her the answer. Just as Noor is ready to give up on her quest, her Ammu arrives home and knows just the thing to say. This is fun in itself but I love the funny/childlike questions Noor asks.

The strong female characters are too busy or too sleepy to answer - hence the refrain "Not now, Noor! The characters are all relatable especially Daadu who is my favoruite! "Not Now Noor" tells the lovely story of a little girl, Noor, who ponders why the women in her family wear the hijab - Are they hiding snacks, preventing nits or are they spies concealing their identity?
