This book is well worth reading for the insight it provides into the minds of seemingly tough little street girls and women who are willing to risk their lives each time they step into the vehicle of a stranger who may be the one who is a murderer. Maria’s psychopathic father spends time in jail regularly for crimes other than what he inflicts on his children. I just turned my head and grabbed One.

This story is an echo that wails through the life of every prostitute who ends up on the street by being manipulated and belittled by brutal treatment as a child. Abuse and neglect in childhood create a social debt that everyone ends up paying for in some way.

When he is in prison Maria and her brother are sent from foster homes to institutions. LOL TO ALL 🙏🙏🙏 I bought this book 📖 about 4-5 years ago but I didn’t read it as my interests had gravitated to other areas, so unfortunately it was my LOSS. Her one obsession is to please him.

I PRAISE HER 🙏 as she was a child herself but dealt life as an adult. Though her father rapes her often and puts her on the street as soon as she looks old enough with makeup, he is the only stability in her life and she loves him regardless of his heartless treatment. This woman should be given the Nobel Prize for her efforts and determination to be {The BEST MOM EVER} brought out feelings I haven’t felt for many years.

She says that she feels there is a glass wall between herself and other people and longs for a loving family. He keeps her off balance being kind one moment and raging the next. Her description of the best method to survive when servicing long lines of men in cars is fascinating. For a child to be treated as trash like she was, and still fight to be a better person and a Mother for her sons - in her efforts SHE EXCELLED where others would have given up.
