Bought it as an emergency (secondary) backup. It came well and in excellent condition. I have included pictures of the drive working fine in the Anker case so you can see both in use.

0 and eSata require special cables, so don't forget to get them if you do this. Of mild concern is the noise on the system startup, otherwise the drive is very quiet. I did not do that, so mine is used primarily for a video data file drive and has not been setup with booting capability. The ability to provide USB 3.

It took me a while to notice it due to the background HVAC noise where it’s located. I've never had an issue with a Western Digital drive before, and I expected no different with this one. *Update 11/15* Unfortunately this drive has an issue that prevents it from being suitable for me.

But for a hard drive this expensive, I would never have expected the plastic to fail (and I am overly cautious when moving computer parts, I did not apply any undo force when the piece broke). If you don't want to configure a drive like this, find a consumer external drive with the CD, cable, etc. I've been a WD fan for many years and in my latest build I decided to go with WD_Black SSD's and HDD's.

59GB out of 1. Presently I am able to use the cable that the plastic piece broke off into, because the plastic is still wedged in there and creates a tight fit. This drive is more expensive than others because i researched which one was good for handling heavy graphic read and write's when using video editing software and the file was on an external drive.
