It comes without a lead, but uses a standard 3 pin XLR microphone cable. The ECM8000 microphone works superbly in its intended use for room equalisation with the DEQ2496, but it can also compete in recording instruments with other condenser mics costing many times more than this cheap gem.

The sound is clear, bright and detailed. Nice low end too, but I don't need a lot as I can still feel the vibrations from the drums. For the money it gets the job done at an affordable price! The ECM8000 is a phantom-powered condenser microphone that is intended for room correction applications, as well as recording acoustic instruments and vocals.

I also use it for sound recordings. Buy it! The characteristics of this microphone and the flat frequency response allow it to make accurate measurements it arrives in a hard case great for transport in turn packed in a carton.

At this price, if I destroy one every once and awhile, I'll just replace it. The ECM8000 is made from aluminium and feels heavy and robust in-hand, at 120g. It is suited to the Behringer DEQ2496 UltraCurve equaliser. I scoop out the mids with a large amount of EQ and then tune to taste for lows and highs.

Try it! It is suitable for use with most audio interfaces available today that provide phantom power to the microphone. I have found myself using it in preference to some of my other condensers and can't quite believe how they can manufacture something like this for the price.
Excellent product, I like the flat response to the pink sound. I can play with the angle of the mic depending on what I need more of. I didn't want to deal with multiple mics and I wanted it out of sight.
