K. The cast in this version of Heathers is fantastic and in my opinion one of the stronger casts the U.
have had. For this reason I much prefer the musical as it adds to an already great film and makes it even more perfect. I think one of the most disappointing things about the DVD is that there are no subtitles. I have watched this many many times already and I'm sure I'll continue watching it many more times as this is a musical that once you start watching you won't be able to get enough of!
The DVD itself is shown as a "special edition" but it is not what I'd call a special edition with the only addition being the backstage interviews. I can work out which song is in which scene as I've seen it so many times but it would've been nice to have mostly a song per scene for easy viewing.
Whilst this happens in the show you wouldn't know from this filmed version as we only get a close up of Veronica and JD as they are crying which completely changes the context of the scene when we didn't get to see the laughing because of the close up we had on another character. The Heathers are brilliantly cast and some of my favourites to watch in the roles. The scene selection doesn't even take you to a specific song, it seems to be all very random.
