About this deal

Jacquard iDye Poly Polyester Dye

Polyester fabric is notoriously hard to dye, but with iDye Poly it is easy. It is not necessary but highly recommended, for maximum colour intensity, to add none iodised salt for cellulose based fibres (cotton, linens, hemp etc). Add garment and simmer for 1/2 to 1 hour. For blended fabrics that contain both synthetic and natural fibers, use Jacquard iDye for Natural Fabrics with the corresponding iDye Poly color at the same time. For 100% polyester and nylon. Grab the PDF for basic fabric dyeing instructions for iDye Poly here! iDye Poly may also be used for sublimation transfer techniques and to dye the polyester threads that are used to sew many commercially manufactured garments. Never use vinegar or acid with black idye, even when dyeing silk - instead use the combination of 1/2 cup salt & 1/2 tsp soda ash.

I could have bought a black pair for $30 more, but the boots were only $20, and the dye was $8. Not including the drying time, the whole process took about two hours from set up to clean up. So I had to write a review of my own because without all of yours, I may not have had such positive results.

Seriously, rinse for several minutes even after it runs clear, just to be sure. It even covered a pre-existing stain. So please and thank you so much.

Then I let it stay in the pot a while to cool because I just didn’t want to handle hot water or hot articles. This should be an outside project.

(I’m sure you’ve had that happen with a bag of chips before - same concept. (Duh!

Even reviews I read here scared me - the mess, the smell, the spotty results, the stained washing machines and hands, the bleeding onto other fabrics. Use a pot and/or stirring stick that will not stain, or that you can discard later.

After the instructed amount of time, rinse until the water runs clear. I read every review here and was skeptical about getting my 100% polyester peach chiffon dress to dye a solid black.

(Met my objectives and watered the grass. I have recommended this specific product to the rest of my cheer team! Worked very well to dye my yellow cheer leotard black ready for my next competition.
