¬† On the palate it is full-bodied with a more enhanced flavour profile than the lower proof Blue Label. If the mixture ignited, the rum was “at proof. Tasting notes:¬†¬†This is a clear, dark, coppery amber colour with burnished copper highlights, on the nose there is sweet molasses, banana, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and mild ginger. It has a complex aroma with an underlying base of raisins, sultana and prunes combined with a more tropical element of banana and brown sugar. If the mixture ignited, the rum was 'at proof. Gunpowder Proof: Prior to the invention of the hydrometer, the Royal Navy ship‚Äôs ‚ÄúPusser‚Äù shutdown claims of watering down sailors‚Äô daily tots by dousing a bit of gunpowder in the rum and attempting to light. Pusser's is the original Navy rum and they still make it in accordance with Admiralty Regulations for rum.
