I bought the same hard drive 3 times now, the product is great only it's a wonder it worked and the hard drive survived transport. The sensitive and shot-sensitive device is poorly packaged.

Right click on the black, unassigned memory bar -> create simple volume -> follow the setup wizzard and set the disk format NTFS (is usually pre-filled)Step 5: doneHope this helps other customers, since here no instructions are included. It should (usually at the very bottom) find a disk with a black bar and the message “uninitialized”. Not even cardboard is marked with caution glass stickers.

Using and replacing the hard drive was very easy. It's enough if you drop it and over 80 euros in the ass since I ordered 2. The case is already displayed under the drives in System Settings->Device Manager, but the external hard drive does not appear in My Computer yet.
I ordered this HDD for an external case. I recommend the hard drive! The packaging was also very good (in my opinion), so well (enough) padded.
