👀 I'm not a massive reader, but I rattled through this in 3 nights, which is testament to Ayoade's brilliance - genuinely, never has a book filled me with such giddy delight. As someone that has seen the movie many moons ago I enjoyed it to be fair, it was an escape from reality for 90mins. In addition, interspersing the reflections and analysis of the film, there are some personal anecdotes of the author who makes us discover a bit of his past by also finding eccentric analogies to the character of Gwyneth Paltrow, who stars in the film.

! What a HOOT! As the author himself says, it is not necessary to have seen the film in order to read this book, also because in the descriptions it is still very detailed but for a complete analysis I would suggest anyway the vision, whether it's before or after reading.

Even the index at the back is stupidly hilarious. When you think Ayoade has reached the peak of its originality, here's how this man amazes you by writing an entire book about one of the most unlikely films in comedy history. Highly recommended - it is the funniest book I've ever read, and all Ayoade admirers should read it.

Ayoade, with his knowledge (not to be forgotten that, among the various things, he directed two films and wrote two other books talking about cinema), brings to light, with the complicity of his particular vein comic, all those details that make this film one of the greatest facepalm of the 2003 movie releases (but, let it be clear, it's in good company both in previous and later years). Hilarious 10/10 ) but also for movie lovers or those who want to laugh and reflect on the romantic comedies that the well-known director René Ferretti (the character of Pannofino in Boris) would know well how to define. Ayoade analysing View From The Top starring Gwyneth Paltrow and a few other recognisable names such as Mark Ruffalo, Rob Lowe, Mike Myers Candice Bergen, and Kelly Preston in his unique way!

Book was inexpensive, came quick and was in excellent condition, I’ll definitely order more from this seller I love the sidetracks/ anecdotes of his life; they really ‘top’ the book (ironic). I highly recommend it- At 240 pages I read it one night so if you're looking for a quick humorous read then this is your go-to! The way in which Ayoade analyses ‘View from the top’ is so unapologetically him, I love it!
