It came in fairly good packaging - extra cardboard would have been preferable to the plastic bag and its lack of handles to help get it out - and there wasn't *too* much excess waste. It does what it supposed to. There is a digital display and colour-changing LED lighting where you can choose the colour of your choice (blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange, red & purple).

For those reasons, I tentatively give this 5 stars after some use. It's super easy to set up - before your first use you need to remove the air filter from its packaging. The light up ring in the centre of the output fan is a nice touch and it will cycle through 7 different colours (blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange, red & purple), but you can set it to a specific colour or turn the light off completely if needed. You also get a year of free warranty if you register the product on the Russell Hobbs website.

The air purifier is sturdy and well made, you wouldn't expect anything less from a brand like Russell Hobbs. There are three different speed settings and a timer function (2hr, 4hr & 8hr). Once this is done, you can plug it in and you're good to go.

The unit stands roughly 40cm high, weighs about 2. 4m cable with UK plug attached. The air purifier is a good size, I was actually surprised by how compact it is and expected it to be a lot bigger. It's a sleek and simple design and will fit in well with any room as it's black and wouldn't stand out.

I tried to find a replacement filter online but was unsuccessful so I’m unsure of the price at the moment. The HEPA filter is easy to replace as you just turn the purifier over, unscrew the base and the filter just slides out. The highest setting is fairly loud, but it really does shift a lot of air. Overall, I think this is basic but decent air purifier that works well, looks nice, is good quality and is priced quite fairly in comparison to others so I feel it represents good value for money.
