About this deal

📦 Package Inclusion:

Remove - Poach for 4 ½ - 5 ½ minutes in gently bubbling water (some foam is normal) and then remove each Poachie with tongs or a slotted spoon. Crack an egg into the Poachie, then immerse, after 6 minutes, remove the poachie, shake, and then serve! Q: What are these bags made of? ✅ Easy to Use - Prepare 3/4 Saucepan of gently boiling water, then place a Poachie into a glass or mug, with the open flaps up. A: The bags are made of a permeable paper, like tea-bag paper but stronger, and with non-stick properties so the egg slides out of the bag when it is sufficiently cooked. No butter, no oil, no vinegar needed! ✅ Recyclable - The bags are made of permeable paper and with non-stick properties so the egg slides out of the bag when it is sufficiently cooked. A: No, they are not reusable and should be dispose off after use.

Didn't trust me. 'So, yesterday I finally gave them a go. My first step to success i think, was to allow the extra watery 'white' of the egg to drain for a minute through the bag first.

Simmering water. Hurrah! Egg poaching pan etc.

I used large eggs . But thanks to these poaching bags, it worked great the first time. I found 4 minutes in simmering water adequate (gas hob) so you probably need a bit of trial and error on timing, depending on your hob. They do tend to leak a little at the bottom when the egg is cracked into them and when removed from the water so you have to be quick and place them on absorbent kitchen paper immediately.

Although the Poachies are not reusable they are worth buying if you want ‘proper’ poached eggs occasionally. The eggs slide out easily when cooked (as per instructions). They are really simple to use and cook the egg more evenly compared to 'floating poachers' as the entire egg is exposed to the boiling water. I disagree with this and have found that I have had to tear the bag to get to the egg (even once it is well cooked).

The only reason why I am not giving them a 5 star review is because the instructions (part 5 - see photo) says: "if the egg does not slide out easily, it is not quite ready". I bought them and they looked so unimpressive, I forgot about them in our over full 'kitchen drawer of doom. I kept my eggs in the pan for 5 minutes, the yolk wasn't runny but not hard (how I like my eggs) if you like runny eggs cook for 4 1/2 minutes, hard cook for 5 1/2 minutes.

Definitely happy to come back Just a minor annoyance for an otherwise great product. The youtube tutorials I've tried in my quest for perfectly poached eggs!
