It’s different, creepy, dark, twisted, suspenseful and just so dang interesting. Set in the forest, any driver passing through, their car breaks down. Stranded without communication to the outside world refuge is found in a concrete bunker with other people to avoid ‘the watchers’Trapped and Afraid, the story is told from 4 different perspectives which makes the story even more compelling as it shows the strength and weaknesses of people who are trying to survive. This was such an interesting read!

If you like strange and creepy books than this one’s for you. Whilst they are strangers to one another, they quickly have to learn to trust in each other, and like with any 'pack', an hierarchy is formed. It’s a book about survival and humanity that will have you looking at the world through a new lense. I can’t get over how good this was.

Excellent writing (there’s plenty of literary fiction alongside the horror), exceptional plotting and flawed yet fascinating characters (can I just say that I LOVED the inclusion of a parrot? If I could give this 10 stars, I would. The vast space; how easy it is to become lost; what actually lurks in those cluster of trees. ’I needed no encouragement!
