The edges aren’t dyed either, which they are on Volumes 2 and 3 which I received from a different seller ages ago - so the set is mismatched. But from the very first time we opened Volume 2, the binding has been creaking and cracking, and feels fragile.

Other reviewers took objection to the binding, but I've had no trouble there. That being said, the writing was more than worth the effort! Arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

Unfortunately, the return window had ended by the time we finished Volume 1 and discovered the problems with Volume 2. I heard so much about the Sandman Series and I enjoyed other works by Gaiman, so I thought it was time to see what the fuss was about. The Sandman is a wonderful graphic novel that everyone should read at least once and this omnibus does a fabulous job of collecting the first 37 volumes in one place. Well, I wrote a whole review and Amazon deleted it when I took a second photo, so I’ll just say that the quality of this book is magnificent and worthy of sitting in any collection.

Volume 1 arrived in great shape, and stayed that way as my wife and I each read through it. I'm not even going to attempt to review the story, since that is so subjective, but, if you are someone who likes to curl up in bed with a book, this publication is a little too large and too heavy for that. We did compare our copy to a friend's publication that had the first ten comics, and this publication has crisper images and brighter colors, which make it both beautiful and easier to absorb.

When I say this book is a monster I mean it's roughly the size of a large encyclopedia. I am a little angry about it, because these books are very expensive ones, and there was no way of knowing, that the publisher has changed the spine. I ended up using my keyboard arm as a bookstand.
