About this deal
The table is from the Yoruba people located in Benin, Nigeria and Togo. This tribal piece was hand carved to display a man being accompanied by an animal companion; both carved to appear to be holding the seat up. The base is cracked, worn, and a small fragment is missing on the piece. This table formed part of a large European collection of tribal African art, mainly collected in the early part of the 20th century.
