**update 10/11/2016**PoE injector no longer functions properly. Power Extender Power over Ethernet for Non PoE Devices Like Foscam To 328 Feet for Use with PoE Switches . I have 5 of these TP-Link PoE's now, 2 of them are about 7 years old. This device puts enough power onto the Cat 5e cable that I use to provide an internet and power my Raspberry Pi 3.

The cable run is about 80 feet from end to end. Otherwise it works fine and never crashes. I hope this is helpful! ( click useful if this comment helped you)

It is a very simple POE injector to install, on the one hand you connect the ethernet cable without POE and a power adapter (included) and on the other you connect the ethernet cable that will have the POE injected into the cable. So I have to wait 5-10 minutes before plugging it back in so that the diode goes back to green.

Not really too much to expand on about this POE Injector, but I've currently got it hooked up to a Amcrest IP5M-1176EW IP POE camera and it's been running non-stop for about a year so far, and I never had even one hiccup or problem with the injector so far. The wireless AP powers with no issues. I still believe TP-LINK is a good brand, and will continue buying their products, just not PoE injectors.

The injector is enough to start using it without consulting the installation guide. I remove a star because when I unplug the case and reconnect it immediately the small diode remains sometimes orange. The device itself is about half the size of my hand, so it is easy to tuck away and forget about.

The cable runs about 15 feet from this Injector to the Pi that is mounted to the back of my TV. No setup required, plug in the power cable, and both ethernet cables and you are good to go. I highly recommend this product to anyone who just needs one or two POE injectors and does not want to shell out the money for a POE switch. The splitter that I bought to power the Pi was this one: 802.

Works fine, low price. Stays cool to the touch, and no weird whines or sounds from the device. Took off one star because the power supply is a bit large, like twice as long and wide as a phone charger but that may be normal for these types of devices. I would suggest paying the few $ extra to get this PoE injector if you need one.
