It came out great! These will rust yes, so I'm giving a 4 star review simply because they couple have spent a couple more pennies to apply heat resistant grill paint, but other than that it's been great. I made a few holes in the top leaving some space in the blocks in the bottom of my firepit for air to get in, it then gets warmed by the fire ring and it is expelled through those holes I made having a second combustion, which adds strength to the fire and eliminates most of the smoke.

Ignore the bad reviews about rust. My husband built a fire pit in the yard and added this fire ring to it. This insert was the perfect size for setting up my smokeless fire pit.
