These were reduced into small blurbs that are meant to be as vague as possible, giving you some of the flavor but none of the in-depth exploration of each races' culture and history, which was part of why the books were so large. The Additional races have a brief description, clearly there are improvements in monsters, for example a PC like the Tabaxis in Flight Guide, its Unarmed attack was in 1d4 and now in this manual you will find it with 1d6, it causes a little more damage but maintains the base of its abilities, and there are also improved races and monsters with some cuts (Pack Tactics or Pack Tactics) although, if you are looking for a richer Lore, you won't find it here, you'll find that one in Mordenkeinen's Tome of Foes. As someone who owns most of the previous released books and homebrews lore, this book offers very little to me as about 90% of its contents is reprint (excluding lore/Stat block updates).

Best sourcebook ever! The NPCs and monsters are also all grouped by alphabetical order instead of having small subgroups (such as the various fiends, for example, though many of the monsters that can be used as races sometimes are grouped on), which can make finding them a bit confusing. Another big change is in how monsters use their Spellcasting feature now, as they lack slots much like PCs do; instead, they have uses per day of each spell, and usually one spell attack unique to them. if you need a lot Pray for monsters, there you can find more extensive and accurate data on each monster or race.

Much of the content in here has been seen before, but the book LITERALLY states that it compiles and updates monsters from Volo's and Tome of Foes. Thank you. This equates Spellcasting to the previously-existiing Innate Spellcasting, and limits their access to a handful of attack spells and mostly buffing.

However if you're looking to maximize investment outside the core books, this is a excellent choice. You can now be a ninja turtle. I guess people just forgot how to read Book came in really good condition, Very excited to play with it.

. Yes, a lot of the content is re-used from previous releases, but this book updates prior publications into the current format for fifth edition Dungeons and Dragons. So are the monsters.

This book is a great character and campaign booster for any DM. It offers a curated selection of monsters and player character races normally scattered across numerous books.

International delivery was swifter than dsred to expect! No print issues or damages. For those who'd prefer a deep introspection into culture and history of some of the game's most popular races, VGtM and MToF are still undefeated - though do note that these books may no longer be in print. The book is in excellent condition.
