! I adore Celaena/Aelin even more from this book; she pained me reading this about how she felt worthless and how she felt she deserved every bit of pain that she experienced as retribution for all that she had failed. There was just something about the way that was written that I really enjoyed (is that the right word) and I started coming around to his character. Really enjoying this series!

We learn more about where our Assassin is from, and she learns more about herself and her limits, she begins to become that an even more badass Character than we originally adored her for being. )There is a lot to be said for the story and the changes that come as a result of this one, but at the same time I still kind of feel like it’s a filler book.

omg the feels in this book 😍😭😍😭 I’m glad that SJM didn’t just ignore the scenarios Celaena left behind her when she traveled, that would have annoyed me. Okay Celaena stop destroying my heart. If you haven’t read them before, all I can say is STICK WITH IT because by the end of the book you’ll be excited to delve into her world even deeper. There was so much going on that I literally do not know what to digest first or which gutted me more.

But when I did it made the story so much better and I've massive love for Abraxos! * ONTO THE NEXT.

Instead we see what is going on there at the same time, and I cried. Following on from that ending from Crown of Midnight (still not over it) coming into this one I expected the pace to follow on just as it had, instead what I got was an extremely slow paced book, that at times, was bloody boring. Rowan… I did not like him to begin with.

Well worth reading, and certainly needed to understand all that comes after! She isn’t a typical “my friend died. HOLY MOLY.
