I never normally read books, I’m a busy working single mum of four. There is so much deep wisdom explained with such simplicity that it is not just easy to understand, it also sticks with you. throughout the book, he portrays every area you would wish to cover from relationships to gratitude, also covering what love is really about, evaluating your friendships, family life. I realise the person I was married to and broke up with 4 years ago I was grieving for someone I didn’t even like and never really loved, yet I’d felt guilty not loving.

I’m absolutely loving reading this book. Probably not the most educated either, but I thought I’d give it and shot anway and I told myself I will just do one page a day. also having read some from the library)from the first page, Jay shetty, grips you and delves you into the monk life and way of being and thinking. I suffered for almost 2 decades with someone unsuitable reading just one chapter and now I’m fixed jay has healed me and hope if jay shetty reads this I want to personally say thank you.

Wisdom without the preaching, and frameworks to apply simply and practically. i ended up doing alot of writing from chapter to chapter from the 'try this' sections within the book and from this i have learnt so much about myself, my life, how I've been towards other people, what really matters to me, thinking about much people mean to me. He uses lots of anecdotes of his journey and then combines this with references to ancient texts to highlight concepts and practices.

The combination of anecdotes, ancient text references, exercises and diagrams really help to bring out the concepts but most importantly provide a practical framework to use. First of all, I finally forgave a former friend for hurting me because of the message of forgiveness explained in the book. I’m also prone to trying to do everything at once and am constantly busy running around so taking some time to reflect and prioritise has helped me immensely. So many great things like spot-stop-swap to transform habits, spotting how our minds go to being the “monkey” and the impact it has and so many more great insights that can be applied quickly and daily.
