For clarity, the set comes with only the one police car (the futuristic orange drag-racer thing in some of the pics was one from our existing collection). We have a number of Hot Wheels cars though, prior to getting this, didn’t have any of the playsets or tracks that are purposely designed for them. Likewise, it looks as if a track from another set could link into the back of this piece, to allow a car to burst through the doors at the front.

On its own, it would probably be 3* only. When you press a button on the top, it drops two ramps down, which can send cars shooting out the side. If your little one is a police fan, then I’m sure they’ll enjoy this even on its own, but I do think it would be better when combined with other sets – and, at minimum, more cars.

On its own, it doesn’t do an awful lot. From the look of the set up on the back of the box, you’d get more mileage out of this if you do have other sets, since it seems that they can all be linked up together. They can go a little way (off the table) on their own, but I suspect they’d be able to go further if you had another track in place for them.

I’m giving it 4* partly on the basis of its potential when combined with other sets, since this is presumably how it’s intended to be used.
