Pictured is a good indicator of quality charcoal. Some of the pieces were large but a good 70 to 75 percent was about the same as from any other lump charcoal provider.

Not sure if I’ll buy it again, might be better local deals, I just didn’t have time to go searching. This is exactly what I needed! Usually piece or two are too large for my 22” Weber, and probably would be for many larger grills too. However, while there are a decent amount of big chunks, there are also too many smaller pieces (see photo for side by side of large vs small pieces that I separated).

When I smoke anything in the Green Egg I’m not in a big hurry to get it to 600 degrees, I take my time and build a fire with more lump charcoal than I’ll need. It lights well, has decent flavor, and burns cleanly for a long time.

I use this charcoal in my Kamado Joe classic. Delivered when I was told it would be, needed it to smoke the turkey breast in my Green Egg today.

Some other pieces are a little too small little chips and stuff, but the majority work very well. Great buy also!

I also occasionally have gotten JUMBO pieces of lump that are much too big to be usable. I used this for a 14 hour smoked pork shoulder roast on my Big Green Egg. I'm really looking forward to using it.
