The style of the book reminds me of "The Mysteries of Harris Burdick," by Chris Van Allsburg. Serious crimes happening much more often.

Things our ancestors would look at in wonder are now commonplace to us. , to connect… and to love. A hummingbird. I hope for Bill Watterson and John Kascht that the experience of creating this work was 5-stars.

I would say definitely buy it for the artwork. It's sensitive and dark, it moves from medieval to modern, it's simple and yet beautiful, sort of. If we don’t change, the sixthextinction event happens… and… as Bill Watterson writes… The universe will continue as usual…This is a cautionary tale. That book presented the reader with compelling visuals and let them imagine for themself what the story and implications were.

I am not sure I agree. This commonplaceness leads to a lack of awe at the uncovered mysteries underlying these discoveries. Maybe it's meant to remind us how insignificant we are in the scheme of things. Sprinkles thinks that the end is especially fitting for a tale coming from the creator of Calvin, the youngest and toughest misanthrope of all time.
