I did have to empty it about four times during my shave given the amount of hair I was cutting, but it's a lot quicker than having to clean up afterwards when using a basic trimmer. See picture for difference - it really will keep your bathroom basin and sides cleaner! This is such a good idea.

I initially thought that the "Less Mess" functionality of this trimmer was going to be gimmicky, but it really does work. I thought the Philips dial-in length selector was quite frankly the best idea ever until I got this model with the vacuum. The power cable lead is especially long, albeit with a three pin plug.
Stereo
To really test this I trimmed half my face with the 7000, and the other with my 5000. This is such a brilliant idea! I first used it without the adjustable comb attachment on 14 days worth of stubble and it cut through it so easily, leaving me with about 2 day's worth of growth.

NO messing about clipping on different comb heads. ) just unclip the head, brush out and rinse - job done. Cleaning it is not so easy.

I have been more than happy with both. The selectable length (as already mentioned) is brilliant.
It is as good in every way as its predecessors but the vacuum takes it to another level! Overall, I'm very pleased with this and it's a massive upgrade on my five year old Philips trimmer. This has gone for a more cyclone Hoover effect and to empty it you need to remove the top blade and cutter. I do use different lengths on face and moustache stubble so this is a godsend.
