Nighthawk
As I’m a similar age I loved the reminders of my own difficult childhood and school years. ’I also liked the way the chapters jumped around and were not in chronological order. A blissful, beautifully written book Chris Packham has written a brave and honest account of his life growing up in the 60s and 70s.

Some have criticised his writing style, but I found it evocative. A must read for all Chris’ Fans !

Highly recommended. Brilliant read as it takes you back to the 60s-70s seen through Chris’ Eyes! I hope Chris writes further autobiographies.
Written down almost in diary form it takes the reader through his early years up to now and tells you all about how he saw the world and his response to others who didn’t see things the same way! ‘This schedule was all about my mother and sister because life , apparently was not ‘all about me’.
…. And they liked to sit in the sun or wander hand in hand across a slimy concrete pool, dodging the cigarette ends and lolly sticks and rampaging teenagers and fat Labradors fetching sticks in ankle deep water that my dad said was full of wee. !
