The mixer does get slightly warmish but found its not that bad or a major issue with the mixer at all . The effects work well and there are 100 to choose from. I have used it to record directly to a Tascam DR40X and to a laptop running Audacity (connected via a Behringer U Control UCA222 audio interface) and have achieved excellent results with both recording methods.

What I did was painted about a 13 in square sheet of plywood black and plugged it into a heavy duty extension cord and lashed it all to the board (with big black wire ties). The effects sound great, the faders and potentiometers are evenly-responsive throughout their entire range.

Needed something to replace my aging and failing RadioShack mixer. I'm not sure what engineer thought that was a good idea.
