I already tried a Shelly Motion 2 and this worked well for people entering the room, but after plunging the wife into darkness while sitting still (and trying to complete an online purchase) I had to disable the "auto OFF" part of my automation. Works perfect with Homeassistant using homeKit. One thing to point out is that this doesn't seem to work great if placed in front of a TV (and maybe even mirrors it seemed to me), ghosting tends to get worse. The problems occur with the shutdown scenes: “Turn off the lights when I leave the kitchen”, with a motion sensor giving partial results.

For example, in the kitchen we use it to turn on the LED on the countertop when we work on it or to turn off all the lights when we leave the room. It is important to tweak the sensitivity and let the system learn the patterns of your area, this helps get rid of the infamous ghosting.

When I consider how many HUE motion detectors for around €30 I would need to implement something similar in my living area much more imprecise and error-prone, this sensor is an absolute bargain. After setup, it is very difficult for people to be detected properly. and it takes time.
